J.C. Marlatt Blacksmith Shop

Constructed here on sight in 2012, the J.C. Marlatt Blacksmith Shop celebrates this important trade and skill. Replicating a 1900s blacksmith shop, much of the wood seen on the exterior and interior is from several old barns dated back to the late 1800s. A blacksmith is a person with great skill and usually found in every community across the Mid-West. From door hinges to plowshares, a blacksmith made everything involving metal. After Henry Ford perfected the assembly line, the blacksmith trade became more of an art and hobby.
